That’s 15 years of experience; 15 years of successful consulting; 15 years of trust that our clients place in us; 15 years of good friends and exciting topics.

Review

Founded in 2008, pareto quickly gained a foothold as a management consultancy for owner-managed SMEs and large companies, including DAX-listed companies. Clients of the first hour were the automotive supplier Hella, Lufthansa Technik and the agricultural machinery manufacturer Krone – companies with which long-standing business relationships could be established and to which the founding partners Dr Markus Hagen, André Rambau, Clemens Führmann and Julia Hidde still feel connected.

Dr. Markus Hagen explains the founding idea as follows: “Our name should really become our programme: Vilfredo Pareto stated that 80% of the effect is achieved by 20% of the effort. Our consultancy quickly identifies the key levers by relying on prudent and experienced partners.” Organisational design/development, process and value stream optimisation in production, logistics, after sales and administration as well as site master planning have quickly emerged as pareto’s main areas of work. Since 2008, pareto has realised around 200 projects in these areas.

André Rambau reveals: “pareto owes its success to a simple insight: consulting success = quality x acceptance. Only the involvement of employees and managers ensures success. To this end, all levels are involved, up to and including the works council.” pareto even integrates the client’s project staff into the core team and coaches them comprehensively. The know-how remains within the company. This ensures sustainable consulting success.

Gradually, the company grew with the partners Prof. Dr. Christoph Haats, Dr. Henning von der Osten, Sven Erler, Thorsten Denecke, Wilmar Krein, Dr. Marc Brinkop, Wolfgang Wolke and Dr. Armin Lohse. Each new partner deepens the knowledge and competences in the core topics, but also brings in new advisory fields and networks. As the youngest partner, Tom Käfer has strengthened the team in the area of Data Science since this year. The newest partner is our circumnavigator Dr Constantin Goth. With him, the pareto portfolio has been complemented by extensive knowledge from the automotive industry.

If you ask the clients what is special about a pareto consultancy, the feedback is unanimous: it is the interdisciplinary view from different perspectives that makes the pareto approaches to complex problems so unique. After all, beyond consulting, all pareto partners have initially built successful careers at well-known companies such as Bosch, Coca-Cola, GKN, Hella, Rittal or Porsche, hold professorships or act as independent entrepreneurs. The different backgrounds enable the consulting team to assess a task from different perspectives, which is unique in this constellation. Dr. Christoph Haats explains: “pareto takes up the client’s ideas that have not yet been fully formulated, pursues them further and puts together manageable and realistic packages of measures. In doing so, pareto pays special attention to the intersections or rather “seams” with other areas. This is how a consulting project becomes a practically lived corporate culture.”

Outlook

Of course, what is really interesting about the history of a company is not what was, but what will develop. So what can we expect from pareto? Without a doubt, pareto will continue to grow organically in the future. After all, the high-calibre team is constantly expanding to include experienced and entrepreneurial practitioners with all their professional and management experience. As a result, pareto’s consultancy portfolio will automatically become more diverse and in-depth. Through cooperations, e.g. with universities, pareto keeps its finger on the pulse of the times and can implement current trends with real customer benefits.

For the next 15 years, pareto is counting on a self-reinforcing, positive development: good consultants, good projects and happy and satisfied clients! We certainly know that this Virtuous Circle exists, because 15 years speak for themselves.
