STRATEGIES FOR THE INDUSTRIAL USE OF HUMANOID ROBOTS

We are seeking companies from the industry who would like to collaborate with our partners and us – with experience, commitment & visionary goals.

Why now?

DELIVERY TIMES

  • Availability of robots is still limited. Realistic delivery dates possible in 2026.
  • ISO standard possibly from 2027, probably from 2028. Actual operation is foreseeable after that.

TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION

  • Building up the necessary expertise in industrial engineering and production technology will take years.
  • IT resources and systems need to be organised. This also requires long lead times.

TRAINING

  • Training for specific work tasks takes a long time.
  • Training methods and training successes can be used for future applications.
  • Pre-trained neural networks accelerate adaptation to new tasks.

We already have experience …

Proof of Concept

AMR in existing operations

  • Initial situation: Is a CAPRA AMR suitable for autonomous outdoor transport at an established industrial site?

  • Objective:  Feasibility proof of autonomous outdoor transport during ongoing plant operations. Integration into existing processes to reduce manual transport and optimise service processes.

  • Achievement: Technical feasibility has been demonstrated and outdoor use under real site conditions has been validated. Findings on weather robustness, interference scenarios and process interfaces are available and can be incorporated into implementation. System integration and CE conformity are in progress.

Prototype

Manipulator for assembly

  • Initial situation: A driverless transport system is already in use. For this purpose, an autonomous robot with an integrated manipulator was to be developed and implemented for the assembly of components and subassemblies.

  • Objective: Implement a combined system consisting of the existing AGV and the newly developed cobot as a prototype.

  • Achievement: The prototype shows that the previously estimated potential for increasing efficiency and reducing the workload of employees in the assembly area has been exceeded.

Compliance

FTS with robot

  • Initial situation: Research and evaluation of product compliance for a robotics system consisting of an automated guided vehicle system (AGV) in combination with a collaborative robot (cobot).

  • Objective was to ensure proper use under defined operating and environmental conditions and to identify all applicable guidelines, regulations, and standards at national and European level.

  • Achievement: A clearly structured product compliance concept that clearly assigns all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.

Enquiry concept

Navigation, transportation, IT connectivity

  • Initial situation: Evaluation and design of a robotics solution for the automatic storage and retrieval of containers in the chemical industry.

  • Objective:  Implementation of the concept and use of the AMR system against the demographic backdrop and with a view to ensuring occupational safety in the long term at the DAX-listed client company.

  • Achievement: The concept developed forms the basis for the system’s market inquiry.

Humanoid robots are not just a “fancy new technology”; they can also have a profound impact on existing production processes. Only when three aspects work together can a solution be created that functions, is accepted, and is economically viable.

01. TECHNOLOGY

Technological expertise ensures that humanoids are selected and integrated correctly from a technical perspective. IPT (Institute for Production Technology at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences), Prof. Dr. Holger Brüggemann with assistants and students

02. SAFETY  |  CE

Security expertise ensures that humanoids are operated in a legally compliant manner with minimal risk. Müller und Partner Sachverständige, Jens Müller are experts and market insiders in the field of robotics and machine safety.

03. PROCESSES, INTERFACES, VALUE STREAMS

Process knowledge ensures that humanoids actually generate added value. pareto managementpartner successfully advises medium-sized and international companies from the industrial sector.
